Recipe 1: Date smoothie Ingredients:
5-6 fresh dates
1 banana
1 cup of almond milk
1 tablespoon of peanut butter (optional)
Pinch of cinnamon (optional)
Ice as desired
Instruction:
Clean the dates from the pits and chop them into smaller pieces.
Place dates, banana, almond milk, peanut butter and cinnamon in a blender.
Blend all the ingredients until you get a smooth texture.
If you want a refreshing smoothie, add a few ice cubes.
Serve in a glass and enjoy a delicious date smoothie!
Recipe 2: Date pie Ingredients:
1 package of puff pastry
10-12 dry dates, pitted
2 tablespoons of butter
1 tablespoon of brown sugar
A pinch of cinnamon
A pinch of salt
1 egg (for coating)
Instruction:
Heat the oven to 180°C.
Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface.
Chop the dates into smaller pieces.
Melt butter in a pan, add dates, brown sugar, cinnamon and salt. Cook over medium heat until the dates soften and caramelize.
Place the caramelized dates in the center of the rolled puff pastry, leaving the edges free.
Fold the edges of the dough over the dates to form a pie shape.
Beat the egg and brush it on top of the dough.
Bake the pie in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until it turns a nice golden brown.
Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, then serve the date pie warm.
